SECOND SATURDAYS OF CENTERING PRAYER
9am-12noon
Location
Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church
1301 Trap Road, Vienna, VA

Covid-19 update

We are continuing to answer the call to protect each other from Covid-19 by refraining from physically gathering.  To that end, we have moved our “2nd Saturday Centering Prayer” ONLINE via Zoom video-conference platform.
OUR NEXT EVENT:

SATURDAY, APRIL 11th
9am-11:15am
**ONLINE**
(via Zoom – see details in blue below)

A MORNING OF CENTERING PRAYER

Two 30-min CP sessions plus
video presentation of Fr. Thomas Keating’s
“A LIFE SURRENDERED TO LOVE”

The video was especially selected for this Holy Week (Holy Saturday), because it offers Fr. Keating’s Easter message of resurrection hope: Christ’s death, dying to self, consent, and the transformative process of Centering Prayer.

Our online format will be similar to that which we hold in-person at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church. See below for our tentative morning itinerary:

Morning Overview:  (times approximate)

9:00   Welcome, overview of morning and introductions
9:20   First session: 30-min Centering Prayer
9:50   Short break
10:05  Fr. Keating Video: “A Life Surrendered to Love” (20 min)
10:25 Short, 3-min private reflection on content of Keating’s material and where it speaks to you in your spiritual journey, followed by group sharing on the content of Keating’s presentation.
10:45 Second Session: 30-min Centering Prayer
11:15 Blessing and Closing

For security reasons , the Zoom meeting ID # will be provided only to those who pre-register their interest in participating.    Please join our email list using the blue link on the upper right side of this page.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR:
Our next ONLINE “2nd Saturday” date:     May 9, 2020   9am

As always, please take note of other upcoming local events below, including some upcoming webinars (this week!) presented by LJ Milone.

In addition, many on-line resources have popped up in recent days to support us.    Here are a couple we hope you find helpful:  1) our national website:  Contemplative Outreach LTD,   and….   2)  meditationchapel.org hosts virtual Centering sessions at all hours in all parts of the world.

In the meantime, we continue to send blessings and wishes for safety and good health to you and your loved ones.   Our practice teaches us that God is ever-Present, working within and through us, as we persevere the as yet unknown impact of this pandemic.   Let us each continue to hold each other in prayer, with gratitude.
