How do I become a mystic? How do we realize oneness with God in a practical way? The anonymous author of The Cloud of Unknowing gives us tremendously helpful advice for knowing God beyond the mind and by silent prayer. The author guides us into a very realistic way of contemplative prayer.

Together, we will read The Cloud of Unknowing. We will interlace this reading with teachings from the author’s other works, notably, The Book of Privy Counsel. We will learn the author’s way of contemplative practice, the virtues necessary to deepen one’s prayer life, and the way mysticism naturally mixes and transforms the ordinary relationships, duties, and tasks of life.
